Pancakes

Yesterday, Gib (a volunteeer at Living Water) started talking about Cracker Barrel---his favorite restaurant. Well...that thought led me to pancakes. I think their pancakes are my absolute favorite pancakes in the world. Well, I haven't had pancakes all over the world, so I may reserve judgment. What is the flavoring that is unique to their pancakes...does anyone know? Yesterday, my prayer partners & I decided to meet at Nu-Way Cafe for breakfast today so we could catch up on each of our Thanksgivings. So last night, I began thinking about the pancakes I'd be eating this morning. Pancakes and bacon. Yummmm! It was good, but not the best I was dreaming about all night. What IS that flavor????

Maybe it's just the syrup...that's what Jay says. But I like the crunch of the Cracker Barrel pancakes.
We had waffles and bacon for dinner tonight. Jay had coffee and the boys and I had hot chocolate. Yes, I am a 7 year old...I can't drink coffee.
Well, I did drink coffee up until I was pregnant with Olivia. Then it started smelling like tuna so I gave it up. It gave me heart-burn to just smell the stuff.
Sheesh, I'm rambling.
Where is the picture of your new gas logs?

Well, they're not installed yet. As soon as that happens, I'll share. TUNA?? Really??
Nope. It's the pancakes themselves. I've even gotten their pancake mix off their shelf and taken it home. It's definitely the pancakes.

TUNA!? That is disgusting!
Ok, I have the exact same answer as Holly. Never eaten the pancakes, only eaten there once in my life...Like 800 years ago.
Does it have the ingredients on the pancake mix?
And I think NuWays pancakes are BLECH! They are too doughy or something. I love waffles at the Waffle House. Ok, I've probably given you more info than you ever needed in your life.
Good night! :P

Hmmm...will have to research this one - they are good. Do you get the peach ones - they are super yummy with the hash brown casserole! (This is making me hungry for a late night snack!)-Mindy

OH, I also think CB pancakes are the best. I have no idea what the flavor is. Please let us know if you find out.

Okay Becky, a true reporter doesn't reveal her source, but here ya go:

Here is a recipe that came from the Cracker Barrel Cookbook. They are delicious!

Cracker Barrel Buttermilk Pancakes
12 to 15 pancakes

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 tbs baking soda
1 tsp salt heaping tsp sugar
2 eggs
2 cups buttermilk

In a large bowl beat all of the ingredients with a spoon. Pour in 1/4 cup measures onto a lightly oiled hot griddle.

Serve with real butter & real maple syrup!

Hope you had a great breakfast at Nu-way. Have a wonderful day!!
