In Solomon’s prayer of dedication of the temple in II Chronicles 6, he says something about God which stood out to me this morning. He said it twice: “You have both spoken with your mouth and fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.” Basically, Solomon was saying, “You’ve done what you promised!”
Do you know someone who says they’ll do things…and then never does them? Or someone who constantly quotes the Word of God…but doesn’t practice what it says? Their words are empty and you soon learn that you can’t trust them.
God has given us an example: if you make a promise, do it! Work with all your might to make it happen. Let your hands do what your mouth says. Otherwise, you’re full of emptiness and lies.
