Sorry, Tammy! I told you I could wait until after Thanksgiving to change my blog into a Christmas theme...but I couldn't. I also had to decorate at home....I'm such a pushover for Christmas!!
Is that why Zach started asking for Christmas decorations a couple of weeks before Halloween? Ha! Must run in the family! But you definitely made it longer than our place!!
How pretty! We get a real tree every year so we don't decorate until after Thanksgiving. But sometimes I wish we had a little bit longer to enjoy the decorations and that awesome pine smell!
I knew that you couldn't hold out. If I want to feel at home, I'll come and look at this picture. Our tree will go up on Dec. 23rd...and come down on the 26th. I don't want to have to worry about it with Olivia. Am I a bummer or what?
You are crazy! I can't believe you already have your tree up. Ok, you can come put up my tree while I organize your pictrues...Deal? Amy, I didn't even put a tree up last year b/c of my little one. It was either no tree or a tree with no decorations.
You guys are PITIFUL!!! I can't believe a BABY would prevent you from putting up a tree. No deal, Sherman. I've already put up 2 trees at Living Water, one at my house and still have one to go at my mother-in-law's house!! I'm about treed out! I was so bummed out. I got out my 2 or 3-year-old pre-lit tree---and more than half of the lights were out!! So I just went to Wal-Mart and got the cheapest pre-lit tree they had. Smaller than the other, but oh well! ha!
Ember- I asked Jay if we could go treeless this year but he looked at me with very sad eyes and said that the kids needed a tree. I think that it's really for him and he used the "for the kids" line to make me feel guilty. :) And I love that we are using Mom's page to talk to each other. I don't know why you aren't on my blog list. Sometimes people get added and sometimes they don't. We have 2 accounts to sign in under and sometimes I'm in the wrong account...like right now.
We can't wait to put it up. Last year we didn't get it up until late because Dave couldn't get it down from the attic because of his leg. This year, Elizabeth has already decorated the house in her mind and can't wait to get all the decorations down!! HA!! I'm usually ready for it to go the day after Christmas though.
LOL! Yeah, I kinda figured that wouldn't fly! Not just any baby...a Tasmanian Devil baby. It was for his own safety! HA!!! And...lucky for me, my MIL always went psycho with Christmas decorations, so I think Derek doesn't mind having minimal decorations :D
Becky, I love it! I loved the picture of your Christmas tree. How did you get it to take like that? I have tried that but my flash always comes on, and makes it a full bright picture and you can't tell the lights are even on. Our kitchen, entry and utility floor is done (as of yesterday afternoon). So once we get our house back together, our decorations are going up!
We've had ours up for over a week. Craig's family was here this weekend to do Christmas with us--as we will be in Texas this year. I was just saying to Craig that now it feels like I should take it down, since we've opened all the presents under the tree! HA!
I am married to Andy Dietz, pastor of First Baptist Church, Groom, TX. We've been in the ministry for over 35 years. We have four grown children and 10 beautiful grandchildren! I write to share what God is teaching me (it's a continual work in progress!) and to open the window to my life and allow you to look in.

Still doesn't fly with me, Ember. Can you say...."Zach?"
